What are the measurements required ?

Measurements required are.
-Bust (important. Please measure the widest part of your bust [across nipples] and please wear a bra when measuring this part. Please note that the bust measurement is not the bra size.
- Under bust
- Waist
- Hips
- Distance between nipples.
- Top of the shoulder to the underbust
- Top of the shoulder to nipple.
- Dress length measured from the top of the shoulder (next to the neck) to the desired length including your shoe height where applicable (down the front of the body).

If the dress has sleeves or a jacket
- Arm hole. (at the sleeve seam between shoulder and arm)
- Sleeve length (measured from arm/shoulder seam on a straight arm)
- Distance across the shoulders
- Distance across the back
- Bicep (distance around the top arm)
- Jacket length (if applicable) measured from the top of the shoulder (next to the neck) over the bust to the desired length.

Please give me exact measurements (fitted) and we will add a bit of extra room (half an inch or an inch or more for some parts) Please do not give smaller measurements as in our experience many customers who intended to lose some weight before the function day ended up with the dress being to small

If you prefer you can choose a standard size and make any changes to the standard size that you require. Please state in the remarks box when ordering. You can change any of the measurement above to fit you ie. Size 12, but 30 waist and 59 long. The length is measured from the top of the shoulder to the desired length. Please allow for your shoe height.

Note : For the most accurate results when measuring for a made-to-measure outfit, please ensure that you are wearing the underwear and shoes that you intend to wear with the outfit (or your normal bra and shoes of similar height to those you will wear).

We have no limit on sizes we can make. The price as shown is for up to size 20. Over size 20 has a £10 surcharge and over size 26 has a £20 surcharge Length over 60 inches will have £15 surcharge. See Top Up Options

Shoulder width

Previously Prom , bridesmaid, cocktail and evening dresses were normally made to measure or alterations were needed if bought of the rail, however these dresses often cost at least £200 up for a simple dress or £50 for a simple alteration such as sewing up the hem. Now buying standard sizes from high street shops has become more common practice, but only if your size is standard and most shops have different standards. As dresses are made from tops and skirts if you wear size 10 top it does not mean you will wear size 10 dress. Tops are made based on bust and bra size and leave a lot of space on the waist. For example if your bust is 33 or 34 inches and your waist between 26 to 30 inches then you are size 10 and again for the same waist size of 26 to 30, but your bust is 35 or 36 then you are size 12. Leaving a big space on the waist for tops does not seem to be a problem, but dresses are made to fit the waist other wise there would be a lot of spare material gathered at the waist looking unsightly. Dresses also need to fit on the hips and it is not uncommon to have a different size top and skirt further complicating matters.

We are a fair trade company that make very small profit margins and give customer a good price. We like our dresses to fit our customers well and want to get it right first time because returned items are costly which is why other websites and retail shops add 3 to 4 times profit margins to cover the cost of returns. We think it is unfair for other customers to pay an expensive price to cover the cost of items returned from customers who order incorrectly. That is why we ask you to order wisely and why we make your dress to your measurements.
